Duane Maktima hails from the Hopi Laguna tribe.  According to his own web pages, he has been working jewelry for over 35 years, and the knowledge gained through those years manifests itself in his refined works.

He continues to strive for the best in his craftsmanship and design. He strongly advocates for the continuation and survival of the cultural arts within his native heritage.
