Jack and Mary Tom are a  husband-and-wife team and both hail from the Navajo tribe. They reside in Winslow, AZ and work in both sterling silver and gold. Jack was born in 1948 at Keams Canyon, Arizona, and began making jewelry in 1971, the same year he and Mary were married.  They entered their first show together in 1974. They have won awards for their work at shows including the famous Heard Museum, the Santa Fe Indian Market, and the Museum of Northern Arizona. Mary's brother, Steven Begay, is also an artist.
