Wes Willie is the son of a
rancher, and he grew on the Navajo reservation. He started out doing
welding and working on pipelines - where he learned how to work with
metals. He learned inlay work under the direction of world class
jeweler Jesse Monongya.
Southwest Art Magazine has
featured much of his work, and he has won first, second and third place ribbons in two
categories at the Santa Fe Indian Market. Many compare his work to
the late Charles Loloma. His pieces
are collected throughout the world.
Wes gives back to the community by
mentoring
apprentices. He is active in the Southwest Foundation.
